Nvidia reported revenue of $96.2 billion for its fiscal second quarter ended July 26, 2026, up 106 percent from a year earlier and 18 percent from the prior quarter. The results, announced August 26, once again exceeded the roughly $93 billion to $95 billion analysts had expected.

The numbers

  • Data Center revenue: $89.0 billion, up 117 percent year over year.
  • Edge Computing revenue: $7.2 billion, up 27 percent.
  • Gross margin: 75.0 percent on both a GAAP and non-GAAP basis.
  • GAAP net income: $59.7 billion, or $2.46 per diluted share.
  • Capital returned to shareholders in the quarter: $26.0 billion, with $99.0 billion of buyback authorization remaining.

The next quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share is payable October 1.

Rubin ramps, Blackwell keeps selling

CEO Jensen Huang said AI has reached its inflection point and that its tokens are now productive and profitable. The company said Blackwell Ultra deployments accelerated during the quarter and that the Vera Rubin platform is ramping into full production, with racks already running at CoreWeave, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Nebius. Nvidia expects Vera Rubin to account for about 20 percent of data center revenue in the current quarter.

Other highlights included the Vera CPU for AI agents launching across industry partners, Blackwell GPUs leading the MLPerf Training 6.0 benchmarks, and the Groq 3 LPX inference accelerator reaching full production.

Guidance

For the third quarter, Nvidia expects revenue of $108.0 billion, plus or minus 2 percent, with a gross margin near 74 percent. That outlook excludes Data Center compute revenue from China. Looking further ahead, the company said fiscal 2028 revenue should grow roughly 70 percent, describing that as a supply-constrained figure given demand growth closer to 100 percent.

The demand story continued after the print. On September 9, Nvidia and eight operators outlined plans for up to 2 gigawatts of AI infrastructure capacity in Australia by 2027, including land, power and buildings.
